Simple, private and professionally managed

What does “direct cremation” actually mean?

It is a simpler form of cremation for families who do not want an attended service at the crematorium, or who prefer to hold a memorial later in a place and at a time that feels right.

The deceased is transferred into our care once release is authorised. We complete the required funeral documentation, provide a suitable coffin, coordinate the crematorium and return the ashes and documents to the authorised family representative.

There is no formal procession, public viewing or family-attended crematorium service within the direct cremation itself. That does not reduce the dignity of the care provided. A separate celebration of life, church service, beachside remembrance or private family gathering can be organised later.

Who often chooses direct cremation?

It can suit a person who asked for simplicity, a family planning a later memorial, relatives who live abroad, or anyone who does not want a formal crematorium ceremony. It is a choice, not a lesser standard of care.

After the cremation

Families may keep the ashes, arrange a later memorial, travel with them subject to the relevant documents, place them in a cemetery or ask about a private ashes-at-sea ceremony. Serenity can explain the Spanish documentation for the option you are considering.
